Welcome to Lakepointe!

Lakepointe is a subdivision located in Shawnee, Kansas in western Johnson County. Our community includes 367 homes and is surrounded by a 16 acre lake, several ponds, fountains, and a waterfall. A private park with playground equipment and several acres of lawn provides a great play area for kids and serves as a gathering space for social events.
A paved scenic walkway connects Lakepointe to Mill Creek Streamway Park, and just a few blocks away you'll find Mid-America Sports Complex Park, Okun Fieldhouse, Shawnee Mission Beach Volleyball, and the KC Ice Center. Shawnee Mission Park is a ten minute drive and is where you'll find an extensive network of trails for walking or biking, a public beach, boat rentals, fishing, and cultural events.
Lakepointe is adjacent to three public schools in the Desoto School District (USD 232): Clear Creek Elementary, Monticello Trails Middle School, and Mill Valley High School.

Announcements - Annual Dues 2021

  • Annual Dues Assessment - The 2021 Annual Dues Assessment was mailed to all residents on December 1, 2020 and full payment is due by January 1, 2021. Please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you do not receive your assessment invoice by December 10th. If you pay with your bank's online bill pay service, please include your lot number in the memo field.

  • Pay Dues Online! - You can pay your Annual Dues Assessment by PayPal, VISA, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover. Please note there is a $9.95 PayPal processing fee for this option. Be sure to include your LOT # to ensure proper credit to your dues account.

  • Annual Meeting - The Annual Meeting of the Members of Lakepointe Homeowners Association will be held virtually via Zoom at 12:00pm, January 9, 2021. Details for joining the meeting are included with your Dues Notice. All residents are encouraged to attend. At the meeting we will review 2020 finances, review 2021 budget, elect three board members to serve for the 2021-2023 term, and elect a fourth member to fill a two year term (due to recent vacancy). Official meeting notice, proxy authorization, and proposed 2021 budget are included with your Dues Notice.

  • Where can I find information about trash service? Information regarding your trash, recycling, and yard waste services can be found here (or click the "Trash Service" menu link at the top of the page).

  • When are the garage sales held? Lakepointe holds two neighborhood-wide garage sales each year. The spring garage sale is always held the week before "Tidy Town" – the City of Shawnee's annual large item trash collection event. The fall garage sale is typically held the second or third weekend in September.

  • When are the streets plowed? All streets within Lakepointe boundaries are public streets and maintained by the City of Shawnee. Click on this link to view the City's snow removal progress map. You can help by not parking your vehicle in the street until after it is plowed.

  • When are the sidewalks shoveled? The city requires that sidewalks be cleared within 48 hours of a snowfall. Lakepointe residents are responsible to shovel their own sidewalks and the homeowners association will clear ONLY the common area sidewalks. Please be a courteous neighbor and clear your sidewalks promptly.

  • How do I report that a streetlight is out? Click on this link to the City of Shawnee website and send in a repair request.

  • What are my annual dues used for? About 45% of your annual dues payment is for weekly trash service. Our negotiated group rate is considerably less than the average paid by single subscriber households in Shawnee. Another 45% of your dues payment goes toward landscaping, maintenance of the fountains & waterfall, and snow removal for the common area sidewalks. Each year, 5% of dues are set aside in a Reserve account to cover large projects like pond dredging or rebuilding an entrance monument. The remaining 5% pays for neighborhood events, insurance, taxes, and administrative expenses.
